Check that StringTuner has microphone access in iOS Settings. In a quiet place, bring the device closer to your instrument and play one string at a time. If the input level is low, adjust the distance between the device and the instrument.

Check the selected instrument and tuning. Gently mute the other strings to reduce unwanted vibrations. If Auto mode does not consistently identify the string, switch to Manual and select the string you want to tune.

In Settings, adjust the A4 reference pitch from 410.0 to 480.0 Hz. The default is 440.0 Hz. Use 1 Hz steps, 0.1 Hz fine adjustments, or direct entry. Target frequencies update for every string.

Use tuning presets or create custom tunings by setting the note and octave of each string. The chromatic tuner detects the nearest note in 12-tone equal temperament without an instrument or string selection. All these features are included in the app.

Open the app’s Settings. Available languages are Japanese, English, French, Italian, German, Spanish, Polish, and Portuguese. The three themes are Instrument, Modern, and Minimal.

The tuner works offline without an account. Audio is processed on your device to measure pitch; it is not recorded, stored, or uploaded. No tuning history is saved. Viewing this support page or the contact form requires an internet connection.
